Communication & Active Listening Workshop
A corporate improv workshop in San Diego, part of Improv San Diego's corporate improv training programs, led by corporate trainer Patrick McInnis.
The problem this solves
Meetings where people talk past each other. Instructions that get half-heard and have to be repeated. Teams that technically hear each other but aren't really listening, which shows up later as rework, mixed signals, and slower decisions.
What participants actually do
- Scene-building games where every response has to genuinely react to what a partner just said, not a pre-planned line
- Exercises that build the habit of confirming understanding before responding
- “Yes, and” based games that reward actually processing what's being said, not just waiting for a turn to talk
Skills your team builds
- Sharper, more present listening
- Fewer talked-over meetings and repeated instructions
- Confirming understanding before responding, instead of assuming
- Clearer, more confident responses in the moment
Who it's for
Teams with a heavy meeting load, customer-facing teams, and any group coming out of a stretch of miscommunication or high turnover.
